Here's our top 5 picks for boozy hot drinks and winter warmers that are sure to keep the cold away this year!
1. Macadamia Christmas Cream
Move over roasted chestnuts, there's a new kid in town. Rich and creamy, our Macadamia Christmas Cream cocktail is like your perfect winter desert and winter warmer drink all in one. Elevated by the delicate nutty flavour, subtle sweetness and soft vanilla notes of our Macadamia Moonshine, this cocktail is perfect for anyone looking for an indulgent and cosy night in!
Ingredients (Recipe makes four large portions):
- 1150ml hazelnut or almond milk
- 350ml Macadamia Moonshine
- 8tbsp cocoa powder
- Crushed almonds (to taste)
- Whipped cream (optional)
Mix the almond milk and cocoa powder in a saucepan over heat.
When thoroughly mixed, add the Macadamia Moonshine.
Pour into a glass and finish with the whipped cream and crushed almonds to taste.
To make vegan friendly, remove whipped cream, or use a vegan whipped cream.

2. (Tough) Nutty Toddy
If you're an O'Donnell fan, chances are you're already familiar with our fan favourite and best selling flavour, Tough Nut Moonshine. Often described as drinking 'liquid Ferrero Rocher', this smooth spirit expertly balances hazelnut and fine caramel notes with a hint of nougat, all rounded off with a touch of barrel-aged whiskey. Our 'Nutty Toddy' is the O'Donnell take on a classic Hot Toddy recipe. Often served as a remedy for a cold, this one is sure to keep the chill away this winter!
Ingredients (Recipe makes four large portions):
- 350ml Tough Nut Moonshine
- 1150ml Ginger Ale
- Cinnamon, cloves and orange
Heat the ginger ale, cinnamon, cloves and orange together in a pot, but do not bring to the boil.
Add the ‘Tough Nut’, mix, and warm it briefly.
Pour into cups and enjoy!

3. Wild Berry Hot Punch
Bring those Christmas Market vibes inside with O'Donnell's answer to mulled wine, our Wild Berry Hot Punch. Our Wild Berry Punch Mix was initially developed as an advent calendar special, but proved so popular we've brought it back for everyone to enjoy! Wild Berry Moonshine and red wine come together with warming flavours, including cinnamon and star anise, to create a drink best summed up as Christmas in a mug.
Ingredients (Recipe makes four portions):
- 250ml Wild Berry Moonshine
- 700ml red wine
- Punch spice mix
- Splash of orange juice
- Fresh oranges & cinnamon sticks
Heat all the ingredients together in a saucepan and warm (do not bring to the boil!)
Pour into a heat-resistant container and enjoy!
4. A Very Cherry Christmas
If you're not a mulled wine person, but still want to get in on the festive fun, this is the one for you. The fresh cherry flavour of our Very Cherry moonshine has been a hit with fans since it launched, and has seen it become one of our best selling flavours! Our Very Cherry Christmas is a fun and fresh alternative to traditional warm winter cocktails, that still evokes all the essence of the Christmas season, and probably even matches your decorations!
Ingredients (Recipe makes four large portions)
- 500ml cherry juice
- 500ml red grape juice
- 350ml Very Cherry Moonshine
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1x cinnamon stick
- 3x cloves
- 2x star anise
Add the cherry juice, grape juice, spices, and orange and lemon slices to a pot and heat over a low heat, but do not let it boil.
Once thoroughly mixed, add the “Very Cherry” and stir in the honey.
Pour into glasses and decorate as you wish and there you have it!
If you prefer a less sweet drink, you can leave out the honey and add a splash of lemon juice instead.
For vegan alternative, use agave nectar in place of honey.

With 2 servings of vegan friendly hot chocolate tablets, a 50ml Tough Nut mini, vegan marshmallows and the iconic O'Donnell enamel Christmas mug, you have everything you need in one authentic, rustic bag!
Ingredients (For 1 Portion)
- 1 Cup of the milk of your choosing
- 3 x Kokoa Collection Hot Chocolate Tablet
- 25ml Tough Nut Moonshine
- 5/6 Marshmallows (optional)
Heat your milk of choice on the hob or in the microwavable (note, the O'Donnell Christmas mug is not suitable for the microwave).
Once heated, add 3 hot chocolate tablets and stir thoroughly until they are fully melted.
