About us

Since 2014 the O'Donnell team, led by founders August Ullrich and Philip Morsink, has been making exceptional wheat-spirit-based drinks.

On a road trip across the USA the pair came across the fascinating story of "moonshine", the bootleg spirit of American Prohibition. Back home, August and Philip set out to bring that notorious drink back to life. Their distilling was rather less secretive than it had been under Prohibition, but at the start the few jars they made were sold mainly to friends and family – and O'Donnell Moonshine was born.

The flavour won people over, and those initially small batches grew bit by bit. To this day our moonshines are developed with great attention to detail, still echoing the illicit stills of the 1920s.
