6 of the Best Classic Lime Cocktails (With a Moonshine Twist)

We’ve picked six of the best, and now we’re ready to give these classic cocktails a Moonshine makeover

1. Moonshine Mojito

Cool, fresh mint meets Lime Moonshine magic

Dating all the way back to 16th century Cuba, the Mojito is a classic summer cocktail, steeped in history and Caribbean cool.

To give your classic Mojito a Moonshine makeover, swap out the rum and bring in O’Donnell Vodka and a generous measure of our Lime Moonshine!

Ingredients: 

Method:

Muddle fresh mint and sugar syrup in a glass. Once muddled, add ice to the glass and pour over the Vodka and Lime Moonshine. Top with soda (to taste) and stir. Garnish with fresh mint and/or a slice of lime.

2. Lime Moonshine Margarita (The Spicy Rita) 

She’s bold, fiery & packs a Moonshine punch!

Ditch the tequila, there’s a new fiery queen in town, and her name is Rita! Who doesn’t love the refreshing tang of a Margarita? And with the current trend for Margaritas with a spicy kick looking like it’s here to stay, we thought it was about time we introduced you to our friend Rita!

Ingredients: 

Method: 

Sprinkle Tajin seasoning onto a small plate. Rim a glass with lime juice and dip into the seasoning to give a Tajin rim. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, Lime Moonshine, O’Donnell Vodka, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Shake until the liquid is cloudy and the outside of the shaker is cool to the touch. Strain into the prepared glass, over ice, and garnish with a slice of lime.

3. Moonshine Daiquiri

Sweet, sharp, and seriously sippable

Another legendary Cuban cocktail, and favourite of historical icons including Ernest Hemingway and John F. Kennedy, the Classic Daiquiri needs no introduction. So, instead, allow us to introduce you to the Moonshine Daiquiri.

Ingredients: 

Method: 

Add the Lime Moonshine, O’Donnell Vodka and lime juice to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until the outsides of the shaker are cold. For a sweeter mix add fine sugar or sugar syrup . Strain into an ice-cold coupe glass and thank us later.

4. Gangster’s Gimlet

Gin? Nah. Go moonshine.

Keep the spirit, lose the gin. Our Gimlet recipe, has all the simplicity and refreshing flavour of this prohibition era classic, but has been reimagined with our Lime Moonshine. It’s tart, refined, and full of attitude. 

Ingredients:

Method

Add the Lime Moonshine and O’Donnell Vodka to a shaker with ice (with the syrup if desired), and shake until well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe glass, and garnish with a wheel of fresh lime.

 

5. The Moonshine Mule (Newly Upgraded)

Spicy, zingy, and with a new Moonshine upgrade

Taking its name from the generous kick of vodka it delivers, we’ve given our take on the classic Moscow Mule a new upgrade and, you guessed it, added more moonshine!

Ingredients:

Method:

Add the Vodka and Lime Moonshine to a glass with ice and stir until mixed. Top with ginger beer to taste and garnish with cucumber ribbons. 

6. Caipirinha Twist

A Brazilian icon, reborn under the light of the Moon(shine)

No cachaça? No problem. Muddle lime wedges with sugar and top with Lime Moonshine for a rustic, zesty cocktail that brings the sunshine.

Ingredients:

Method: 

Cut one of the limes into wedges and muddle with sugar in a jug, releasing as much of the juice as possible and mixing to form a syrup. Discard the peel and put the sugar and lime syrup into a glass with ice. Pour over the vodka and O’Donnell Lime, and garnish with wedges of the second lime - enjoy!
